Qualifying as Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, or IIHS 2016 Top Safety Picks is no easy feat. Vehicles are rated for front crash prevention, crash warning systems, automatic braking, as well as five crash performance metrics.

There are two categories: Top Safety Pick, and Top Safety Pick+. All 4 Mazda’s qualified for the second category! This means – at minimum – they received the highest rating in the five crashworthiness tests, as well as an advanced or superior rating for front crash prevention.
